Who we are

Leslie Swathwood, President/Owner

In her professional life, Leslie has worn many event-related hats: she is the owner of an independent wedding and special event planning business, Elegant Events, Ltd. and has been for over 20 years; she and her husband Jason were the original founders/owners of a local bridal magazine franchise in Indianapolis and several other cities and have successfully produced over 65 wedding and other consumer events in 3 states for over ten years; and currently they own Circle City Expos, a consumer event production company based in Carmel, Indiana. Circle City Expos produces a variety of consumer events in the greater Indianapolis area including bridal shows, restaurant tasting events, food and wine events, local shopping events, womens expos and more.

Leslie & Jason enjoy creating and producing lifestyle events that help connect interested consumers with businesses offering the products and services to fulfill their needs.

Leslie enjoys planning events of all types, but is especially partial to weddings as they are her passion. She loves working with clients to learn what makes them unique and bring that into their event.  She feels that the greatest compliment she can receive on a client's wedding day is when one of their guests comes up and asks if she is the planner they have heard so much about, and then they proceed to explain that as soon as they walked into the ceremony and reception they immediately knew that it was their friend or family member's wedding....that everything looked and felt like the couple of honor.

She also prides herself on maintaining excellent working relationships with a wide variety of top notch event professionals. She feels that this is a vitally important aspect to helping clients plan their events. Many clients have told her they truly valued her customized recommendations of high quality event professionals who were "the perfect fit" for them and their event.

Leslie has been an active member of International Live Events Association (ILEA) Indiana since 2000, and served as chapter President of ILEA Indiana in 2005-2006.

Leslie is a native of Northbrook, Illinois who graduated from Indiana University in 1994. Leslie also is a voice over artist who has done work on local, regional, national and international levels. She and Jason were active in a variety of other professional and community organizations over the years, including the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and The Columbia Club. Both are current active golfing members at Woodland Country Club, and Leslie is a Sustaining Member of the Junior League of Indianapolis (JLI). They have 1 daughter, Claire who is 10 years old, and live in Carmel, Indiana.

 Outside of “all things wedding”, Leslie enjoys spending time with her daughter Claire, playing golf, traveling, fine dining, many varieties of tea, a day at the spa, and spending time with family and friends.

Elegant Events, Ltd. can follow you anywhere. We have orchestrated weddings in many cities. Our specialty is greater Indianapolis, but we always enjoy destination events.

Our professionals draw on the finest local sources of furniture, lighting and accessories to transform hotel ballrooms, urban parks, rustic lodges and sandy beaches into magical settings.

Elegant Events, Ltd. has won PACE Awards from ILEA Indiana for Best Wedding, and was a nominee for an ILEA Esprit Award.

Lynette and Kevin
